Summer Day Camp Workshops - Remember when you woke up early during summer break and headed to day camp to meet friends and learn how to tie knots and learn crafts? Well, here's your chance to do it again and learn the craft of Natural dyeing and additional crafts.

Escape to nature and learn the art of natural dyeing and botanical workshops at our Summer Camp. Explore the beauty of flowers and herbs while creating unique, sustainable fabrics. 

The next Summer Day Camp is June 14th.  Each Day Camp will be similar, but different if you decide to return again.

Day Camp will start at 9am to beat the heat and you will have a camp brunch plate to nosh on throughout the workshops.  The brunch plate is yummy mix of locally made breads, cheese and charcuterie items.  We will also have some herbal teas to sip on.

1. We will start with a bundle dye project.  You can bundle dye a bandana, pillowcase, or silk zippered purse with natural pigments and flowers.
2. We will then learn to create flower prints by steaming dried and fresh flowers onto linen cocktail napkins, a cotton bag, or a pair of crew socks.     
3. While our items are steaming, you will learn another craft. Bobbi is currently looking into a fun natural craft to round out our day. 

The cost of this workshop varies with the silk item you plan to bundle dye. You will choose your silk item option when you sign up or choose the "flower prints only" option. 

Join us to craft a botanically dyed silk shawl with natural pigments including flowers, and then release negative energies that no longer serve you through a chakra opening breathwork session. 

Our workshop will start with a creative natural dyeing experience with Bobbi Matuk of Couleur de la vie. We will dye a silk shawl with 7 pigments representing the 7 chakras.

While the silk bundles are steaming, you will relax and experience a breathwork session with Monica Galli. Monica your Breathwork facilitator has all 5 levels of healing certification through David Elliott. To find out more about this type of work check out www.monicagalli.org/breathwork

Optional: 7 crystals representing each chakra can be purchased to bundle into your scarf.

Create colorful flower printed cotton socks and learn the art of natural dyeing. 

You will bundle fresh and dried flowers and plant pigments onto a pair of cotton crew socks to create your own one-of-a-kind dyed flower socks. We will learn which flowers make the best flower prints and how to preserve them. The workshop will include instructions how to continue the natural dyeing at home.

October 4th, Friday 6-8pm

The Pottery Atascadero, 5800 El Camino Real, Atascadero, CA 93422 

Learn the process of natural dyeing while embellishing 4 organic cotton napkins, with flowers and plant materials. We will also make 4 ceramic napkin rings to coordinate with your beautiful napkins.

Choose from flowers, food waste and plant pigments from the “dye bar”. You will then place the natural pigments on each napkin and bundle it up.  While our bundles are steaming, you will craft napkins rings out of clay. 

This is a perfect way to upgrade your holiday dining tables with napkins and rings that you have created yourself.  There is an option at signup to add additional napkins to your set.

Additional information on naturally dyeing at home will be provided so you can continue the craft at home.

Remember when you woke up early during summer break and headed to day camp side to meet friends and learn how to tie knots and learn crafts. Well, there's your chance to do it again and learn the art of Natural Dyeing and Herbal Crafts.

Day Camp will start early to beat the heat, and you will have a camp brunch bucket to nosh on throughout the workshops.  The Brunch Bucket is a yummy mix of locally made cheese and charcuterie items curated by my amazing neighbors at Black Market Cheese Co. You will love it, and you can even stop by on your way home to check out their farm and fromagerie.  

We will start with a bundle dye project.  You will learn to naturally bundle dye a bandana, pillowcase, silk hatband, or silk zippered purse with natural pigments. You will then learn to print flowers onto a cotton zippered bag, cocktail napkins, or a pair of crew socks.   While our items are steaming, you will learn about the herbs from Allison Lorne. She will guide you through making an eye pillow made from herbs grown on the couleur de la vie property. 

You can choose your silk bundle dye and flower print options when you check out.
